Several things are necessarily to stack the deck in favor of healthy, active aging.

Once we make it to age 70, perhaps the most important thing to do - to reach 90 and be glad - can be summed up in the words we yell out to children when they are learning to ride their bikes....

"Don't Stop Pedaling!"

In other words, don't stop living just because you reach a certain age.

I must add that since I figured out that the only times I really do fall off my bike are when I panic, like on really sharp turns or going through a narrow gate, and stop pedaling - that "don't stop pedaling" has become my catch phrase.  It is the mantra I use to encourage myself under any circumstance in which I start to lose my nerve.  My own little inside joke.
